What Dental Implants Actually Cost And Why We Put The Number In Writing
Nobody researches dental implant cost for fun. You're here because a tooth — or a mouthful of them — needs replacing, and you've noticed that most websites answer the price question with a phone number and a sales pitch. We'd rather treat you like an adult.

So here’s the truth: your price depends on your anatomy, and anyone quoting you before seeing a 3D scan is guessing. What we can promise today is the process — a free consultation with a free CBCT scan (a 3D X-ray of your jaw), an itemized plan with every cost in writing, and zero pressure. No hidden fees. No surprises on delivery day.
And a structural advantage most offices can’t offer: because everything happens under one family-owned roof — the surgery, the planning, and the lab that mills your teeth — the middleman markups simply never make it into your bill. It’s also why qualifying patients get final custom-milled teeth in about 24 to 72 hours, not months of temporaries.
Want your real number? Book the free consultation — the free 3D CBCT scan produces an itemized written quote in one visit — and the financing page compares all four of our lending partners.
The Practice
This Practice, At A Glance

One-Time Investment Versus The Forever Treadmill
The cheapest option per visit is rarely the cheapest option per decade. Here's how permanent implants compare with the patch-and-repeat cycle.
The pattern of spending
Permanent dental implantsOne planned investment, engineered to last decades — with routine cleanings as the main ongoing cost.
Dentures & repeated dental workA recurring cycle: adhesives, relines, remakes, repairs, and emergency visits that never really end.
What happens to your jawbone
Permanent dental implantsImplants keep the bone working like natural roots — protecting the foundation your face and future dentistry depend on.
Dentures & repeated dental workBone shrinks steadily under dentures, so each remake fits worse than the last and future fixes get more complex and costly.
The hidden costs
Permanent dental implantsEat normally, speak clearly, smile without thinking — the quality-of-life dividend that never shows up on an invoice.
Dentures & repeated dental workSoft-food menus, slipping at the worst moments, and the quiet social tax of guarding your smile for years.
When something goes wrong
Permanent dental implantsThe team that placed your implants is in the same building for life — with direct access to your doctor, not a call center.
Dentures & repeated dental workEmergency repairs on someone else's schedule, often with whoever happens to be available.
Longevity depends on bone health, medical history, and home care; your doctor will review your individual outlook at your consultation.

How Patients Make Implants Affordable
For most people the scariest part of implants isn't the surgery — it's the price tag. That's exactly why we sit down and work out the money with you before anything else, so cost never becomes the reason you keep living with teeth that hurt. Our coordinators compare offers from Proceed Finance, Cherry, LendingClub (now Happen), and CareCredit to find the lowest rate and the most comfortable monthly payment your situation allows.
Prequalifying takes minutes, online or at your visit, and doesn't affect your credit score. Most of our full-arch patients choose a monthly plan rather than paying all at once — the exact payment depends on your plan, your credit, and the term you choose, and we put it in writing alongside your itemized quote. If you have a PPO dental plan, we'll work it hard for you too — maximizing your reimbursement and handling the paperwork ourselves.
Start with the free consultation. You'll leave with your scan, your options, and your numbers — and whether you move forward is entirely, genuinely up to you.
One roof, start to finish
Consultation, surgery and final teeth — all here.

Family-owned since 2008
Two owner-doctors. One lab. One team.
One roof, start to finish
The consult, the surgery and the lab that mills your teeth are all in this building — which is why finals take about 72 hours here instead of months in someone else’s queue.

Family-owned since 2008
Two owner doctors, one lab, and 15,000+ patients treated in Fremont and San Francisco. The people who plan your case are the people who place it — and the ones you see when you come back.
The Questions You'd Ask If Money Weren't Awkward
Why won't anyone quote a dental implant price over the phone?
Because an honest number doesn't exist until someone has seen your bone. The real drivers of cost — whether a tooth still needs extracting, how much bone the site holds, whether grafting is needed, how many implants your bite requires, and which material suits your case — all live on a 3D scan, not in a phone script. That's exactly why our consultation and CBCT scan are free: within one visit you get the real number, itemized in writing, instead of a teaser price that grows later.
What actually determines my dental implant cost?
Five things, roughly in order: how many teeth you're replacing; whether extractions or bone grafting come first; the number of implants your bone genuinely needs; your choice of sedation; and the restoration material — we work with monolithic zirconia, PMMA, titanium hybrids, and other major systems, matched to your bite forces and goals. Because those drivers live in your anatomy, your number comes from your free 3D CBCT scan, itemized in writing at the consultation — not from a price chart. All-on-4, All-on-6, and All-on-8 Robust involve different amounts of engineering — more implants, more support, more milling — but the tier follows your anatomy, not your invoice. What does not drive cost here: outside lab markups, visiting-surgeon fees, or per-implant upcharges. We place as many implants as your bone needs — often six to eight per arch on full-arch cases — and your per-arch price stays the same.
How can you charge less than the big implant chains?
Structure, not shortcuts. We're family-owned, so there are no franchise fees or shareholder margins built into your bill. Everything happens in-house — the surgery, the planning, and the CAD/CAM lab that designs and mills your teeth — so no third-party lab adds a markup, and no surgeon flies in with travel costs attached. Cut out the outside lab, the franchise fee, and the fly-in surgeon, and the price simply comes down — without cutting a single corner on your care. Two more things the chains rarely match: our care-for-life warranty is honored here by the doctors who treated you, with no network fine print — and you're welcome to bring any written quote from another office, and we'll read it with you line by line.
Do you take insurance, and what about financing?
We work with all PPO dental plans — we'll help maximize your reimbursement and handle the claims paperwork for you. One honest expectation to set: most PPO plans treat implants as a major procedure and cap annual benefits at roughly $1,000–$2,000, so insurance usually helps with part of the bill rather than all of it — we'll verify your exact benefits and show you the numbers in writing before you decide anything. We currently can't accept Medicaid, Medi-Cal, Medicare, or HMO (DMO) plans for implant procedures. For the balance, we compare offers from four trusted lenders — Proceed Finance, Cherry, LendingClub (now Happen), and CareCredit — to find the lowest rate and payment for your situation, whether your credit is excellent or still rebuilding. Prequalifying takes minutes and doesn't affect your credit score.
Why do Bay Area implant quotes vary so much between offices?
Three reasons, mostly. First, Bay Area dentistry carries the region's overhead — rent, staff, and lab costs here run above the national average, and most offices pass that through. Second, quotes often cover different things: a teaser price may include the implant post alone, with the abutment, crown, temporaries, and scans billed separately, while another office quotes the finished tooth. Third, structure: offices that send lab work out or fly in a surgeon pay markups that end up in your bill. When you compare quotes — ours included — ask for the itemized version and check what's actually in it. Ours arrives itemized by default, from an office where the surgery, sedation, and the lab that mills your teeth share one roof.
Does the price change if it's a front tooth versus a molar?
The parts are the same, but the job isn't. A front tooth is aesthetic surgery as much as implant surgery — the gumline, the crown shade, and the way light passes through the tooth all have to be right, because everyone will see it. A molar is less about looks and more about force: back teeth take the heaviest chewing loads, so implant size and bone quality matter more. Neither is automatically the expensive one — what moves your quote is extractions, grafting, and how much bone the site holds, which is why the number comes from your free 3D scan, itemized in writing, not from a price chart. Paying without insurance changes none of that: the same scan produces the same written number, with lender quotes added only if you want them.
Is a lower arch cheaper than an upper arch?
Often the surgery is more straightforward on the lower jaw — its bone is usually denser, and there's no sinus sitting above it — while upper arches are the ones that sometimes need a sinus lift or grafting before implants can go in. What changes the number is the preparatory work your anatomy needs, not which jaw it is. If you need both arches, we plan them together — one scan, one sedation plan, one coordinated timeline — and the itemized quote shows each arch separately so you can decide in stages if you prefer.
Are cheap implants — discount chains or dental tourism — worth it?
Some of our most complex cases are repairs of work that was done cheaply and quickly somewhere else: too few implants, outsourced parts, no one accountable when things loosened or fractured. A failed implant costs more to fix than doing it right ever would have — in money, bone, and time. Whatever you decide, get a plan from someone who will still be in the same building in ten years; since 2008, that's been us.
Is there any obligation after the free consultation?
None. You'll leave with your 3D scan results, a clear diagnosis, an itemized treatment plan, and financing options if you want them — and the decision stays entirely yours, on your timeline. We'd rather prove our thinking before you spend a dime; that's the whole point of making the first visit free.
