Immediate dentures with implants offer several advantages to our Fremont, CA patients
- Sanket J.
Throughout history, the degeneration that can occur in our teeth has not significantly changed. However, the way missing teeth are replaced has. Patients who visit Center for Implant Dentistry can retain the feeling of a naturally functional, beautiful smile with dental implants. Our dentists have completed extensive training, and have years of experience in the area of implant dentistry. Immediate implants placed in our Fremont, CA dental practice have significantly improved our patients’ experiences.
There are several advantages to dental implants over conventional tooth replacement with a bridge or denture appliance. Implant treatment can be viewed as complex due to the length of “recovery.” Because it takes months for implants to become fused to bone tissue, the process may be misunderstood as uncomfortable or inconvenient. In reality, the healing phase of treatment is typically aided by a temporary bridge or denture. As implant dentistry has advanced, new solutions to missing teeth have come about. Our patients may have treatment planned around their needs, experiencing the entire tooth-replacement process quickly and comfortably.
There are three phases to the immediate implant process:
- The initial consultation allows your implant specialist to become familiar with your concerns, unique dentition, and needs. A thorough examination of your oral structure is performed to determine your needs, and the suitability of same-day implants. Our goal is to achieve the best outcome for each patient, which we do by taking ample time during this initial meeting.
- Implant placement is done during the second visit to the Center for Implant Dentistry. The implant procedure is performed after the patient is given local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. Teeth are removed and high-quality titanium implants are inserted in the precise position for natural function. Then, a bridge, crowns, or a denture is placed over the implants. Upon leaving our office, patients’ smiles will look and function in the most natural fashion.
- Recovery is still a part of the process even when extraction and restoration take place in one visit. This recovery essentially involves the natural fusion that occurs between bone tissue and the implant or implants placed. This process, called osseointegration, progresses in the few months following treatment. During this time, we continue to provide support to our patients, following up to ensure teeth look and function naturally, and that comfort is maintained.
